Profile

I joined the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies in September 2012 as Language Co-ordinator for French. Since September 2015 I became the French Section Convenor for the Department.

In August 2016, I undertook the role as Director of Studies for BA (hons) Modern Languages & European Studies programmes
(years 1 & 2).

I obtained my PhD in Language and Communication Sciences from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where I also taught French Language and Translation, both for undergraduate and master programmes.

For more than ten years, I have been involved in research programmes on teaching and assessment materials design, foreign language certification systems and teacher training.

At the University of Bath, I work on different projects related to language teaching and learning funded by the Learning and Teaching Enhancement Office through its Teaching Development Fund. I am a registered Senior Fellow of the HEA and have been elected to serve on the University Senate and the Academic Programme Committee starting in the 2016/17 academic year.

I am an experienced Language Teacher Trainer. I also work as a specialised translator in Greek/French.

Since September 2012, I have maintained a multilingual blog with students and developed extra-curriculum activities in French language such as radio shows, workshops etc.

In collaboration with the others Language Co-ordinators, I organise and lead a seminar series on Didactics of Foreign Languages.
