Anastasia Alden

I spent most of my year abroad in Brussels, Belgium, working as the Managing Director’s Intern at the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union (AmCham EU). My main role was to do all kinds of work for the Managing Director. I did a bit of everything, from the typical jobs you imagine an intern doing like photocopying and filing, to writing some of her speeches and briefing notes for important meetings, setting up and organising board meetings, and preparing power-point presentations. I also got the chance to work with the Communications and Policy teams doing research for some of the recently published publications AmCham EU has produced, and organising various different events – monthly plenary meetings, a delegation visit to Washington to meet with U.S. politicians, and a week long Presidential round-table.

My time at AmCham EU made me grow both personally and professionally, and I wouldn’t change my experience for the world.
