The MPhil and PhD programme is an opportunity for students to undertake original research with our department.

Research environment

We provide a vibrant and dynamic environment for graduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds around the world.

All MPhil and PhD students are supported by strong supervisory arrangements as well as by structures that ensure appropriate personal and professional development.

In addition to the University Library and range of computing facilities, our department also has a range state-of-the-art teaching facilities.

Many of our staff have specific research interests, however our departmental research focuses upon three core clusters:

We currently support a wide range of student research projects.
