Mail Services

Student parcels

Mail items too big for your mailbox or that need a signature can be collected from the Parcel Room at Eastwood Lodge. We make every effort to have your items processed for collection the day they arrive but this may not always be possible.

Parcels will only be accepted from couriers for recipients living on campus up to 28 days after the end of the academic year. After this point parcels will be refused. Please ensure you update your address details to avoid an unnecessary inconvenience.

Collecting your item if you live on campus

We will send you an email to notify you when an item is ready for collection. You should not come to collect your mail until you have received an email - even if the supplier has advised you that it has arrived at the University. It will be processed by the Student Parcel Office staff as soon as possible.

When you come to collect your item please bring the parcel notification email - either printed, or displayed on your phone or tablet and a photographic ID (your University Library Card is the preferred form of ID).

Items will be held for a period of 28 days after which items will be returned to sender or disposed of.

You can request that we hold your item for longer by emailing us at acc-mail@rt.bath.ac.uk.

Collecting your item if you live in the city centre

All parcels for students living in the city centre will be sent to the Virgil Building for them to collect.

Collecting Items on behalf of somebody else

If you want to have a parcel collected on your behalf, then The Student Parcel Office must receive this request via acc-mail@rt.bath.ac.uk.

The email must contain the reference details of the item to be collected and of the person who will be collecting it.

The person who is collecting your parcel must bring their photographic ID (the University Library Card is the preferred form of ID) to verfiy that they are the nominated collector.

Requesting Parcel redirect to home or other address

At the end of the academic year when you return home for vacation or at the end of your studies, The Student Parcel Office can redirect parcels to an alternative address.

If you would like items to be sent to your home or alternative address, you can request this by emailing us at acc-mail@rt.bath.ac.uk.

There is a postal charge for this service and items cannot be released until payment has been made. We will inform you of the cost following receipt of your request.

Payment is made via the University of Bath Online Store (Postage) and there is a minimum payment of £1. When payment is received, authorisation will be provided to post the item.

You will need to register on the Bath Store before you can pay for Online Store Postal services.
