Mail Services

University mail

The University runs a regular mail service for staff, departments and services.

Collections and deliveries

Mail is collected from and delivered to department and building receptions two times per day (morning and afternoon).  Signed-for items and parcels are delivered at the same time.

Staff can also take University mail direct to the Mail Room, Wessex House.

Last post deadlines:
  • 4.30pm for Standard mail
  • 4.15pm for Signed-for mail

Sending mail

Do not use staples and other metal fastenings to seal envelopes.  They can cause injury to our staff.

Write your full work address clearly on the back of your envelope so the Post team can contact you if there are any issues with your item.  Your address should be formatted as:

Full name
Department
Building
University of Bath
Claverton Down
Bath and North East Somerset
BA2 7AY

Do not include room numbers.

Your mail will be sent Second Class unless you write First Class in the top left-hand corner of the envelope.

International mail

Attach a blue Airmail sticker to the top left-hand corner of each item of overseas mail.  You can get these from the Mail Room.

The Royal Mail and Parcel Force offer a range of timed delivery and proof of delivery options.

DHL - The Mail Room has a central DHL account which includes the ability to import shipments.

For advice on the best option for you, call the Mail team on 01225 385748, email mail@bath.ac.uk or bring your item to the Mail Room.
