Francesca Guiso Gallisai Research Development Manager
Francesca supports academics in their research ambitions through expert funding advice, strategic planning and developing high-quality funding proposals.
Francesca is the Research Development Manager for international development in Research and Innovation Services (RIS). Her work includes identifying opportunities and developing high-quality research proposals relevant to the:
- Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) and the Newton Fund from the Research Councils and National Academies
- Department for International Development (DfID)
- Newton Fund
As part of the Research Grant Development team, Francesca facilitates workshops and provides skills training for improving grant proposal outcomes.
Before joining the University of Bath, Francesca worked in an international development consultancy for nine years. She was responsible for business development and project management in agriculture and rural development, food security, environment and sustainable development. Francesca also worked for the UN agency FAO (Food and Agriculture Organisation), supporting researchers and technical staff in drafting papers for the general public.
Francesca has an MSc in International Development from the University of Bath.
