Doctorate in Clinical Psychology welcomes new students
16 November 2011
The first cohort of trainees are now established at the University of Bath for the three year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Trainee Lottie Morris said "So far, the course has exceeded my expectations: the teaching is incredibly engaging and thought-provoking; as a new course, the ethos is innovative, forward-thinking and student-centred; and I enjoy the balance of support and autonomy that we are given to develop into the type of psychologist that we choose to be."
Fourteen students have embarked on the programme, which received over 560 applications. Admissions this year are through Leeds University Clearing House.
Amanda Laffan, a successful applicant, reflected on the applications process last year. She said, "It was really useful that Bath published their admissions criteria and detailed information on the course ethos so that I could be sure that this was the right course for me to apply to. All of the admissions staff were incredibly friendly and helpful which made the whole process so much easier, and was reassuring at such a stressful time!"
Applications for 2012 entry close on 1 December 2011.
