Research degrees
The MPhil and PhD programme is an opportunity for students to undertake original research with our department.
Research expertise
We have a strong tradition of interdisciplinary work and collaborate with a wide range of other departments in the University of Bath, with local and national institutions, and international networks including the World Health Organisation.
Many of our staff have specific research interests, however our departmental research focuses upon four core clusters:
- Clinical Psychology
- Cognition, Affective Science & Technology Laboratories (CASTL)
- Health Psychology
- Social & Cultural Psychology
We currently support a wide range of student research projects.

Applications and funding
All students should have sufficient funding before starting their studies (without relying solely on part-time work). The Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences Graduate School provides guidance on potential sources of funding (scholarships and studentships) for postgraduate students.
Applicants must complete the application checklist before applying.
