A study into career choices, beliefs and expectations
Enter a prize draw for a £100 Amazon voucher by participating in a study looking at how career choices, beliefs and expectations can influence how information is evaluated and remembered.
What does taking part involve?
The study involves completing two online questionnaires. In the first questionnaire you will be asked to answer some questions on career aspirations, gender, and political opinions. You will then be asked to read an article, and answer a set of questions that will assess your comprehension of the article, and reassess your beliefs and opinions.
A week later you will be emailed with the second questionnaire to see what information has been retained and assess your beliefs and opinions again.
Participants will be given the opportunity to enter a prize draw for a £100 Amazon voucher.
Where will the research take place and how long will it take?
Both questionnaires are online – the first will take approximately 20 minutes to complete, and the second will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
Who can take part, and is it confidential?
The only requirement for this study is that you are over 18 years old. All information is confidential, and will only be seen by the principal investigator and supervisors. The study has received ethical approval from the University of Bath Psychology Department ethics committee (Ref 13-005).
