Caterpillar WESBath Public Engagement Award 2016-17 nomination form
The Caterpillar WESBath Public Engagement Award 2016-17 recognises outstanding outreach and public engagement by a female engineering student at Bath.
The winner will receive £500 and there will be two further prizes of £250.
Engineering outreach and public engagement span a broad range of activities, from festivals and workshops, to blogging and social media. To be eligible for this award you must be a female undergraduate or postgraduate student at the University of Bath and have actively promoted STEM subjects to the public.
Examples of STEM public engagement might include:
- engaging the public face-to-face, such as school and college workshops, STEM festivals, and pub science/engineering talks
- engaging the public through an online medium such as social media and blogs, with evidence of participation from the audience
- working with students and teachers to enrich the classroom experience
- engaging or involving the public with your research (if you are a research student)
