Enterprise and Knowledge Exploitation
The Enterprise and Knowledge Exploitation (EKE) team within RDSO is the major interface between the University of Bath’s academic staff and external parties to stimulate and develop routes to exploit University research outcomes.
The team focuses on delivering innovative business support activities, including through the Technology Strategy Board (TSB), business collaborations, licensing based partnerships, entrepreneurships and new company formation.
EKE core functions:
Business Development Management and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)
The Business Development Management within EKE are responsible for working with academic staff to develop funded projects with industry and other stakeholders through a variety of mechanisms, including Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs). The principal aim of a KTP is to transfer academic expertise from the university into real business projects, enabling companies to drive forward dynamic change and introduce new innovative technology within the UK.
The Research Commercialisation Managers within EKE are responsible for the identification and development of the University’s most exciting commercial prospects.
The Innovation Centre provides practical support and expertise to local technology enterprises and companies that emerge from the University’s student and academic research base.
