Activities can be supported by a number of funding mechanisms, including collaborative or shared funding opportunities.  We are focused on helping companies, giving them access to technology and expertise not readily available in the commercial sector.

Collaborative research: Collaborations  between several external partners and the University are a highly effective means of both understanding research and knowledge transfer and are developed through our Research Development & Collaborations Team.


Contract research: Specific contracts to undertake research can be tailored to meet your needs through our Research Development & Collaborations team.
 
Enterprise and Knowledge Exploitation (EKE): the major interface between the University of Bath’s academic staff and external parties to stimulate and develop routes to exploit University research outcomes.
EKE consists of three teams:
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships provide part-government funded opportunities for organisations and universities to work together on projects that are of strategic importance to a business or public sector organisation;
Research Commercialisation to identify and develop the University's most exciting business prospects;
The Innovation Centre to provide practical support and expertise to local technology enterprises and companies that emerge from the University’s student and academic research base.
 
Licensing: the University has a wealth of copyrights and state-of the-art technologies which are available to license. 
 
Consultancy: the University provides consultancy to businesses and the public sector through which our academics offer tailored solutions to specific issues.

Student placements and highly skilled graduates and postgraduates: for employment in a range of technical and non technical roles. 

Continuous professional development and training courses: many of which are credit bearing for organisations and individuals.
