Information Session: REACT Knowledge Exchange Hub for the Creative Economy
Date: 5 Sept 2012
Time: 10:00 - 12:30
Location: University Council Chamber
Presenters:
- Jo Lansdowne and Matt Davenport from Watershed will be presenting about the opportunities that exist.
- Professor Danae Stanton Fraser (Co-I on the grant) will be telling us more about the rationale and vision of the project.
The information session will provide information on the opportunities that are offered to academics by the Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) funded REACT Knowledge Exchange Hub for the Creative Economy. This event will be of interest to those who already know they want to apply for funds and those who just want to find out what it is all about!
Bath were successful in getting this funding by working with UWE, Bristol, Exeter and Cardiff and the Watershed in Bristol. Over the next 4 years the project will be funding a series of projects across each of the Universities linked to strategic and thematic calls. The funds are very much focused on developing relationships between academics and the creative economy to develop ideas and projects of interest to the AHRC remit.
This session will include:
- The background and vision of the project
- The various options open to academics and creative partners to receive funding under this call - including what are you actually applying for?
- Current and future thematic areas - currently 'Books and Prints'; two further themes include 'Future Documentaries' and 'Objects'
- New funds that are available for 'pump priming'
- Explaining the watershed's Sandbox process
- What is it like being part of the process - John Troyer from SPS will be telling us about his success in the first round of REACT funding under the 'Heritage' call.
