Communicating Your Research to Business

Aim: To help you assess business (government, charity, etc.) needs and offer solutions from your research.

Suitable for:
Any academic/ researcher who is looking to improve the way that they are perceived and heard by others, particularly those in business, and the effectiveness of their inter-personal interactions.

This session will cover:
This highly interactive and participative session will start to examine what it takes for us to become the best that we can be in the way that we communicate, connect and interact with business stakeholders. We will look at the fundamentals of good communication. We will understand what it takes to become clear on what you need from each interaction, and how to get a clear understanding of what the business person might be experiencing – critical for dealing with ‘difficult’ situations, people and conversations, and for dealing with conflict and negotiating. In addition we will examine how our thoughts can affect the way that we are received in our interactions with others.
