Types of Development
Development can take many forms including:
· Learning new skills or knowledge by attending training courses or distance learning
· Gaining professional experience by attending workshops or in regional activities of professional institutions
· Studying for academic or professional qualifications or certifications, establishing professional contacts and networks by attending seminars and conferences
Personal Development
Financial provision is made for graduate development and all graduates are expected to spend approximately 10 per cent of their time on their personal development, distinct from working on their projects. This development normally will be in three areas:
· Personal and transferable skills
· Managerial and professional abilities
· Project specific training
Training and Qualifications
· You get a training budget to manage – so YOU get to decide which courses you think would benefit your personal and career development more
· KTP Associates can obtain the Chartered Institute of Management (CMI) Diploma in Management, and at the University of Bath all graduates are strongly encouraged to register for the MPhil in Knowledge Transfer with the possibility of transferring onto a PhD, thereby developing both professional and post graduate qualifications.
· A key feature of KTP is that every graduate should spend at least 10% of their time on other training and personal development opportunities. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships offers graduates the opportunity of gaining a higher qualification.
