The KTA is funded by a £3m grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council from 2009 to 2012

The EPSRC has funded KTAs looks to stimulate an environment and engender a culture to overcome barriers to better exploit EPSRC-funded research. They will foster the creation of an environment in which impact and knowledge transfer/exchange are valued and encouraged, just as much as is the generation of original research results.
Advisory Groups
The KTA at Bath is involved with a number of partner organisations. Our partner organisations assist with showcasing events, using their expertise and contacts to ensure a comprehensive and appropriate range of organisations have the opportunity to benefit from the university’s research. They also provide regular review and guidance.
South West Companies can benefit from a range of services offered by the Enterprise Europe Network. An experienced team based around the region, who provide high quality advice and practical support to businesses throughout the South West in relation to Europe and the Single Market. Our services include:
- Advice and support in tackling the challenges of doing business in the Single Market, helping with EU regulations and issues, and introducing your business to relevant EU policies and programmes.
- Hands-on help with R&D and innovation challenges – identifying and solving difficulties with innovation, technology and related issues and opportunities.
- Guidance and support for firms wishing to understand the opportunities provided by EU funded programmes such as the R&D Framework, including help with the development of project ideas and proposals.

It is developed in partnership with subject experts within government and relevant business-support organisations to help you comply with regulations and improve your performance.

The Technology Strategy Board promotes innovation in many ways.Their approach is summed up in the words connect and catalyse. Much of their work is in spreading knowledge, understanding policy, spotting opportunities and bringing people together to solve problems or make new advances. The TSB also invest in and manage a range of delivery mechanisms and programmes to drive technology-enabled innovation. To guide our work they have identified technology areas and application areas where efforts are focused, with Innovation Platforms targeting specific areas of challenge.
