Newly Awarded KTP with Hydraulic Projects Ltd

The University of Bath have been awarded a KTP with Hydraulic Projects Ltd, (Hypro) a company who design, manufacture, assemble and distribute quality hydraulic valves, actuators and pumps from their site in Dawlish, South Devon.

With an opportunity to expand beyond their current main market of agricultural equipment manufacturers, Hypro aim to enhance the range of flow control mechanisms primarily for the agricultural sector to strengthen and expand the company’s niche position.

Hypro’s customers are demanding more sophisticated control, greater efficiency and added value, all at competitive prices. By embracing new technologies, materials and techniques, Hypro plan to take the lead in hydraulic valve design.

Through the Centre for Power Transmission and Motion Control (CPTMC), and led by Dr Nigel Johnston, the KTP will transfer the University’s considerable experience and resources on modelling and simulation of hydraulic systems, to Hydraulic Projects Ltd.

The CPTMC has an international reputation for high quality research, and recently secured funding of an estimated £650k for research into efficient fluid power control. This builds on the Centre’s internationally-leading expertise in hydraulic actuation and control.
