The Leverhulme Trust - Research Leadership Awards

The Leverhulme Trust has announced their 'Research Leadership Awards' scheme that allows the University to nominate one academic to be eligible to make an application.

The scheme provides up to £1 million pounds of funding and targets those academics who are starting to build a research team and are adequately able to tackle an identified but distinctive research problem. Applicants will have held a university post for at least two years.  Applications for research in any subject area within the Trust's normal remit will be eligible for support. Further information will be provided to nominated applicants.

Website information is available including what is required if you are nominated to submit an application.

If you are interested in being considered for this scheme please send an electronic version of your CV to Sarah Jones before Friday 13 January plus one page of A4 detailing why you think the University of Bath should nominate you to The Leverhulme, what your aspirations are with regard to setting up a research team and a lay person summary of your 'big idea'.

A panel consisting of Professor Jane Millar and the four Associate Deans will decide who will be nominated to the Leverhulme. The panel will be looking for the person with the most potential to lead a team to internationally significant research. A decision on who to nominate will be made by the end of January 2012 for a submission of the application to The Leverhulme by 30 April 2012.

Please contact Sarah Jones for further information.
