Images of Research 2013: Research Matters

2013 marks the fifth year of our Images of Research competition. Researchers from across the University have submitted an image and accompanying narrative that captures a theme relevant to their research.

This year’s theme, Research Matters, shows the progression of their research, and the difference it makes to society, economy, other research and global challenges.

The winners

Our 2013 winners were announced at our preview evening on 7 May by Judges Prof. Jane Millar (Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research); Dr Steven Hill, Head of Research Policy at HEFCE; and Philip Raby, Director of the Bath Film Festival..

Best overall
Phantom Nose - Dr Jonathan Cox

Best image

The exhibition

The images will be exhibited on:

  • 1-2 June – at the Fringe Arts Bath Festival in the Officers’ Club, Stall Street
  • 3-21 June – at the University Library.

Judges from the community and University will award three prizes: ‘Best Image’; ‘Best Narrative’; ‘Best Overall Entry’ at the preview. There will also be a ‘Public Vote’ prize. You can vote for your favourite, and talk to a selection of researchers about their work, during the Fringe Arts Bath Festival.
