National Consultation on the Researcher Development Framework
A Researcher development framework has been created as a tool for planning, promoting and supporting the personal, professional and career development of researchers in higher education. It describes the knowledge, skills, behaviours and personal qualities of researchers and encourages researchers to aspire to excellence through achieving higher levels of development. The framework will replace the Joint Skills statement and also address more experienced researchers.
This consultation is seeking your views on the proposed new Researcher development framework for researchers in the UK. It is imortant that we express our views to enusure that the framework is as benefitial and suited to the research environment and researchers as possible.
Anyone working at the University is welcome to comment but we are particularly keen on views from PGRs, research staff, Supervisors, Principal Investigators and managers of researchers, senior managers and HR and careers advisors
The consultation will allow you to comment on any or all of the following aspects of the framework:
- as a national framework for researcher development
- meeting the development needs of individual researchers and the needs of organisations which support them
- the current and future skill needs of researchers
Before responding to the consultation we invite you to read the 'Researcher development framework consultation briefing paper'.
