Retirement of Hazel Wallis



Hazel Wallis, Head of Research Grants and Contracts, who will be retiring this January. 

Research and Innovation Services (RIS) would like to announce the retirement of Hazel Wallis, Head of Research Grants and Contracts (RCG), after over 15 years at the University.

Hazel joined the University in 1998 and is responsible for processing University research applications and awards, for the University’s £125 million research portfolio.

This includes Pre-Award and Post-Award, and more recently Research and Commercialisation Contracts, taking responsibility for University research contracts.

To say farewell and thank you RIS will be hosting a leaving do on 27 January from 16:15 in the Wessex Restaurant. Hazel will be retiring from the University on 28 January.

There is a card and collection in WH 3.3 for those who would like to contribute to a farewell gift.

Dr Jon Hunt, Director of RIS, says: “I've had the pleasure of working with Hazel for 11 years and I will miss her. Her knowledge of the rules, combined with her commitment to a high quality service, has resulted in her team being so highly regarded."
