EKE Launch New IP Protection Process

Graham Fisher 27780-0015 high res Feb12The Research Commercialisation team, within RDSO’s Enterprise and Knowledge Exploitation (EKE), has developed a new engagement process for academic staff and researchers looking to protect and commercialise outcomes of their research.

The protection of intellectual property (IP) developed by research staff through mechanisms such as patenting and any subsequent exploitation, has a number of benefits for academic staff including; contributing towards REF submissions, impact, profile and financial benefits.

The Research Commercialisation team are looking for new projects and want to hear from academic and research staff with innovative ideas from their research which might be capable of exploitation. In addition, the team is a route to access proof of concept funding to support commercial exploration of novel ideas through internal HEIF Investment Fund.

The new IP protection process and associated invention disclosure documentation is available on the RDSO website.
