Self Access Language Centre (SALC)

The state of the art Self Access Language Centre (SALC) was established in 2000 to help students to continue developing their language skills outside the classroom.

Students and staff can find us on the top floor of the Library.

We offer access to on-site resources and services, all via guided assistance from the on-site SALC staff, including computers, reading materials, captioned television programs in 72 languages, CDs and DVDs.

We also provide a range of specialised software programs, such as TELL ME MORE, and online language resources covering pronunciation, grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Through our “language-exchange” system we offer students and staff the opportunity to 'teach' their native language and learn another in exchange.

A different language is a different vision of life.

— Federico Fellini,Italian film director and scriptwriter
