The Self Access Language Centre

Using SALC

In the Self Access Language Centre you can:-

• watch films and satellite t.v. in many languages
• use CD-ROMs and DVDs for language learning
• wordprocess in many languages including Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian. For instructions please visit Bath Computing Services at:-
  Public Access PCs - Multilanguage Support
• study Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Spanish...
• photocopy (6p per sheet)

In the Self Access Language Centre you cannot:-

• access email
• use the Internet. Go to Rules & Regulations >>

CD Roms

To use a CD-ROM- Select a CD-ROM box/case from the shelves and take it to the issue desk

• You will be given the CD-ROM
• Insert it into the CD-ROM drive
• If it does not start automatically, click on the relevant icon on the desktop

DVDs

To use a DVD- Select a DVD box/case from the shelves and take it to the issue desk

• You will be given the DVD
• Insert it into the DVD-ROM drive
• It will start automatically. Right click the mouse to set subtitles
