Car parking
Parking on campus
All motor vehicles must be registered at the Parking Office or University Reception and a fee paid, except:
- Registered disabled drivers
- Authorised visitor permit holders
- Valid Pay & Display ticket holders (please see the Visitor Parking and Pay & Display Charges sections for details)
Parking space is limited, and car users are generally charged for using University car parks and/or required to display an official permit in the vehicle. Charges are made to repay the loans initially raised for providing the car parks, and are reviewed annually.
Applications for permits should be made to the Parking Office or University Reception. Undergraduates and Postgraduates are subject to restrictions.
The car parks are broadly zoned to encourage flexibility of use. The University does not provide a car parking space for all potential users and possession of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space. There is no on-street parking near the University, where all roads are subject to either double yellow lines or Resident Parking Permit regulations.
Car park map
Please refer to the Google map which illustrates car parks for permit holders and areas for Pay & Display. This map depicts an overview of car park layouts not the exact location of marked bays.
Regulations, conditions and sanctions
Please see parking Regulations, Conditions and Sanctions for further information.
Accessible parking and help points
The access map highlights all accessible parking bays on campus. Drivers displaying a Blue Badge may park in these bays free of charge.
There are four yellow intercom help points; two in East Car Park and two in West Car Park.
