Charging points for electrically powered motorcycles/scooters

Did you know that in the under-deck there are charging points for electrically-powered motorcycles?  They appear as small grey boxes, and are located at the Wessex House end of the under-deck.

If you have an electrically-powered motorcycle or scooter you can plug into any of the points to charge your vehicle whilst you are at work. Currently there is no cost to you for using them but the vehicles should be registered ‘free of charge’ with Security using the motorcycle registration form.

The installation was the idea of a student who owns an electric motorcycle and had seen the charging points for cars in the East Car Park; it seemed like a good idea to us and a natural extension to the car charging points and to encourage a reduction in the University’s carbon footprint.

Electrically powered motorcycles and scooters are becoming cheaper and more popular as time goes by – we look forward to seeing the points in use.
