University wins project approval for Global_ID
29 May 2013
The emergent “Global Identity ” is creating new spaces to incorporate groups at risk of social
exclusion. Faced with this challenge, Global_ID seeks to contribute in constructing a global
citizenship. Global_ID will be developed from 2nd to 14th June 2014 in the University Jaume I and
in the Barrio San Lorenzo of Castellón (Spain).
Global_ID looks to:
- identify how to construct global citizenship with the emergent “Global Identity”
- promote better pedagogies through the Participatory Video (PV) from the Human Development (HD) approach
- facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experiences on HD in multicultural and interdisciplinary teams, incorporating the interaction with groups at risk of exclusion
- generate a collaborative space with the aim of preparing a future European master.
The project is a 10-day training course for 30 Masters students from a network of EU
universities (Spain, Italy, UK and Romania) which includes some teaching by staff and fieldwork in
a marginalized community of Valencia. The University of Bath is proud to be a partner of the event
and will send a number of students and accompanying members of staff when the project runs in June
2014.
The project is hoped to be the start of a network of EU institutions sharing teaching and
research on wellbeing/human development issues.

Global_ID
