Academic Assembly

The Statues and Ordinances of the University provide for three representatives of Academic Assembly to serve on the Court of the University. Nominations are now invited for the election of three members of Academic Assembly to serve for the period ending 31 July 2020.

In accordance with Standing Order 16(c) of Academic Assembly, Dr M Carley and Dr N Parish are not eligible for re-election for a period of one year.

Staff who are not members of Academic Assembly

The Statues and Ordinances of the University provide for three members of staff other than academic staff to serve on the Court of the University. Two casual vacancies have arisen because Emilia Davies (Operational and Facilities Support) and Layla Malt (Technical and Experimental) have left the University. Both terms of office run to July 2019. The representative of the Management, Specialist and Administration job family, Mrs Amanda Wylie, continues to serve to July 2019. Nominations are now invited for the election of one member from each of the following job families:

All members of staff other than academic staff may propose or second a candidate but the candidate must be in the job family that they seek to represent.

Submitting a Nomination

A nomination may be submitted in either written or electronic format. A written nomination shall bear the signatures of the proposer and the seconder and shall be accompanied by a declaration by the candidate that he or she will serve if elected. An electronic nomination shall consist of e-mails from the proposer and seconder confirming their nominee and an e-mail from the candidate declaring their willingness to serve if elected. Candidate statements of not more than 150 words will be accepted. Staff may suggest themselves for election but require a separate proposer and seconder. Eligibility to be nominated or to act as proposer/seconder requires a full-time or fractional employment contract with the University.
