Remuneration Committee

We decide the remuneration of senior officers of the University.

The Remuneration Committee (the 'Committee') is a sub-committee of Council and considers/advises on pay-related matters although its focus is on three main areas; remuneration, performance and severance of senior staff.

It has delegated authority from Council to determine the remuneration packages of the Vice-Chancellor and Designated Senior Staff indicated in the formal and transparent framework which it also maintains for Council’s approval.

The Committee approves the annual performance objectives of the Vice-Chancellor (thereafter shared with Council) and ensures appropriate procedures are in place for the assessment of the performance of Designated Senior Staff.

The Committee review and recommend to Council severance arrangements for staff earning £100,000 FTE (full time equivalent) or more per annum and cases where the financial cost is greater than £95,000.
