Terms of Reference

These terms of reference apply to the Bath Scheme for the Professional Recognition of Teaching and Supporting Learning in Higher Education ('The Bath Scheme'), including the Bath Course for Enhancing Academic Practice ('The Bath Course') and the Teaching Introduction for Postgraduates ('TIPs').

  1. To consider the on-going development and delivery of the Bath Scheme (including the Bath Course and TIPs) and to ensure its continued alignment tot he UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in higher education (UKPSF).
  2. To ensure high standards for the Bath Scheme with respect to academic quality and participant learning experience.
  3. To discuss the Scheme's operations and to make recommendations to ULTQC on its future plans and strategic direction.
  4. To consider and respond to reports from the Bath Course Board of Examiners and Bath Scheme Panels, including External Examiner reports.
  5. To monitor participant feedback arising through various sources including from Bath Course participant representatives, Bath Course Section evaluations, Bath Scheme (experienced-Based route) evaluations and TIPs evaluations, and ensure that appropriate actions are in place and communicated back to participants.
  6. To monitor and at regular intervals review the effectiveness and strategic suitability of the Bath Course.
