Aptus Suits is a bespoke Cotswold tailoring Company, offering high quality tailored garments at affordable prices. If we were to have access to the inner centre store we could not only measure people up for bespoke garments, but also sell, hand made ties, and cufflinks perfect for the christmas market.

As Aptus is an established brand although new, it has the structure in place to really cope with the footfall an inner centre shop would attract. We also would have a great team in place to really promote Aptus and Bath University alike.

Our idea is to have a small, café style charity shop that sells all-sorts of things to take away or enjoy within the premises. We'd bring chairs from our own houses using cars. Some of the things we would sell include:
Cakes/Cookies, preferably home baked for large profit margins.
Add to that some drinks e.g. innocent smoothies and coffee (we already have a quality coffee machine).
Have hand painted plastic cups and sell glasses of drink (QuickFix drinks) for about 40p each.
Sell sweets.
Bring a waffle iron and sell warm waffles with ice cream or something plus a cup of coffee.
We could also bring a sandwich maker and make toasties.
A microwave and heat and sell microwaveable food.

The basic premise is that it is "a couple of students coming together to make money for charity". So half of the profit we make would go there, the other half we would keep. We would advertise this within the shop to make up for the fact that our store would seem rather "thrown together". People would also feel more inclined to buy in such a store.

Names for the shop would include "Scramble Café" or "Café of Wonders". Although the amount of seating would be very limited, we would still call it a café (or maybe a play on the word starbucks, such as bazaarbucks). We presume that people would be intrigued if they see a shop selling all-sorts that is quite the opposite of what you'd expect, namely more like a school bazaar. From the outside, they would presume low prices, but once they get inside we can command a price premium thanks to our charity aspect.

We would be very flexible in adding items to this list and we could even employ the help of our friends in producing some of the goods, since this is for charity also.

Thank you for considering our entry.

Quite simply: Veggie boxes at wholesale prices!

This is a social enterprise that aims to provide the local community with a better option for both the customer and the environment.

The sale of organic produce reduces the chemicals (pesticides and fertilisers) and energy (chemical priduction) that have been used to grow the products. This is beneficail for the consumer because they are not ingesting the chemicals and better for the the environment because the carbon and ecological footprint are less (reduction in pollution of ecosystems and the atmosphere).

Our produce is sourced as locally as possible (ideally within the UK) which creates a stronger british economy and a more secure British agricultural industry. While some of our produce will be sourced from abroad it is limited to those items that are high in demand but that are not in season in the UK (e.g tomatoes and peppers at the moment), this is preferable to not supplying them because these are items that would be perchased elsewhere if not provided by us (most likely from an source that is not organic!).

A smoothie/panini café aimed at families and young people looking for impulse, eye catching, products. It would sell a variety of panini's/toasties and a variety of smoothies, with a extra section of pick 'n' mix. There could be a number of meal deal, for example, 'toastie and a smoothie for £3.99 for today only!' Seating inside for customers could be bean bags to make a more modern, younger persons atmosphere, with the choice of seats for less able customer, this way we could extend out target market, catering for more people.

As a group of students with a common interest in international development, we have a long term objective to set up a charitable project overseas providing micronutrients to children in extreme poverty. In a similar way to Fruit Aid, which donates beneficial juices to cancer patients after chemotherapy, we would use the shop to produce and sell fruit juices, made from locally sourced ingredients. Alongside this we plan to sell ethically aware products e.g. Fair Trade. These products will also act as an exhibition to raise commercial awareness and the profits will be used to fund the start-up of our project.

with a selection of spices. Aswell as the drinks we would like to sell traditional indian

Alongside the hot drinks, and traditional sweets we would like to give back/neck/hand

SIFE Bath would like to use the day in the shop to:
1) Promote and sell tickets for the upcoming fundraising dance performance show Strictly for Charity to be held on November 28th. Ticket prices to members of the local community are higher than to students and this would be the ideal opportunity to target them. More ticket sales to local residents of Bath will generate greater profits which can be invested into new and existing SIFE projects which aim to identify the needs of the local and international communities and make sustainable solutions.
2) To sell Krispy Kreme Donuts (approx 1000). We will buy them at cost price and sell them on to customers for a profit. This will provide funding for the Strictly for Charity show.
3) Advertise SIFE and educate local residents into what the aims of SIFE are. We will use a Suggestion Box in the shop for residents and customers to put forward ideas for future projects.

Specialized in indie, retro, and vintage apparel, accessories which are trendy up to date and most importantly affordable. Our brand aims to bring affordable fashion to Bath. For any girl, Retro Attic becomes a cool older sister's closet, where one is able to find stylish attire. There is a gap in the market for a company like ours who know our target market well and what styles and trends they like. Due to the fact that Bath is a town with high student population (our target market) and the fact that we have extremely competitive prices we know that we can be a success.

We plan to sell an assortment of apple related foods including apple strudel, apple pie, apple bread, apple biscuits, toffee apples and much more, all home-made using locally sourced products. It is the perfect season to enjoy great British apples in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Customers can take away the delicious delights or alternatively be served in our tranquil tea-room. Delicious and reasonably priced, we aim to attract all types of people. Hot and cold beverages will also be available.

We are a social enterprise

We are holding a promotion event for world AIDS day.

We have been in contact with an NGO in India who provide food and shelter to victims of the disease. They are sending us a number of greeting cards which have been designed by suffers of HIV or AIDS. We intend to sell them to the public whilst making collections and distributing material to create awareness.

World AIDS day is on Tuesday the 1st of December, we would ideally like to host our event the weekend proceeding this in order to maximize our footfall.

We are also hoping to gain the involvement of The Terrence Higgins Trust however this has not yet been confirmed.

Participation and donation of stock from the NGO in India has already been confirmed.
