Tracey Wells

Tracey joined Bath Careers Service in October 2013, having worked for 12 years at the Careers Service at Oxford University. She has a degree in Chemistry, and a postgraduate qualification in Careers Education Information and Guidance in HE. She is also MBTI qualified, a personality tool used in career and personal development planning. Tracey has previous employment experience in scientific publishing, PR, in an energy consultancy and a brewery.

Anne Cameron

Anne joined the Careers Service in 2012 having completed the Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance at Nottingham Trent University. She has a PhD in French and has taught at universities in Britain and Ireland. She brings these experiences to the role of supporting researchers with their career development.

Aste Dahl

Aste joined the Careers Service permanently in September 2017 having previously worked as a Careers Adviser in adult further education and in back-to-work government schemes in Norway. She also has extensive experience in work placements after several years at the University of Bath as the Placements Officer within the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences. Aste holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance.

Ghislaine Dell

Ghislaine joined the Careers Service in 2006, following ten years' experience as a postdoctoral researcher in Biochemistry at the universities of Bath and Bristol. She has completed a postgraduate diploma in careers guidance and has a growing interest in the use of social media and personal branding in careers work.

Laura Lawrence

  • Lead adviser for the School of Management (undergraduates).
Laura joined Bath Careers Service in 2000, from the careers service at the University of Surrey. She has a degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Careers Guidance in HE and is qualified in Occupational Testing - aptitude and personality. She is also MBTI qualified, a personality tool used in career and personal development planning. Most recently Laura became a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a qualified coach. Employment experience outside of HE includes banking, charities and defence.

Saiyada Fazal

  • Lead adviser for the Faculty of Science, focused on supporting non-placement students, finalists and PGT's.
  • Specialist responsibility for the Sprint Programme for female undergraduates and the Bath Award.
Saiyada joined Bath having worked as a Careers Adviser a number of University of London Institutions including UCL, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and The School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). Saiyada also worked within the University of London’s C2 Consultancy Unit delivering outplacement and careers support to Professional Bodies and Higher Education Institutions. More recently she headed up the C2 Education Unit where she managed the careers provision for 7 University of London Institutes which included Birkbeck, The Institute of Education (now part of UCL) and The Royal Veterinary College (RVC). Originally from Tanzania, Saiyada came to the UK as an international student and began her graduate career in Advertising delivering campaigns for clients in the retail and FMCG sectors.

Melanie Wortham

  • Specialist responsibility for supporting students from non-traditional backgrounds and students with disabilities.
Melanie joined the Careers Service in September 2016 having previously worked at Cardiff University Careers & Employability in various roles including Careers Adviser and Work Experience Manager. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Information & Guidance in HE. Melanie has a background in HR and has previously held HR roles within the IT, engineering and public sectors.

Raeesah Ellis-Haque

Raeesah joined the Careers Service in November 2017. She studied Economics (BSc) at the University of York and International Development (MSc) at the University of Edinburgh. She joins the team having previously worked for a variety of NGOs in South-East Asia and, most recently, Widening Participation and Student Recruitment at Durham University.

Jayne Hacker

  • Destinations Survey Manager.
  • Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education Survey (DLHE).
Jayne joined the Careers Service at Bath in 2005. She is a University of Bath Sociology graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Statistics from the London School of Economics. She worked as a Government Statistician at the Department of Education where her work included projecting Higher Education student numbers and her last role was statistician to the HMI of schools. She later returned to a similar role as a statistician in the School Improvement team with Bath & North East Somerset LEA. Jayne has also had ten years' retail experience as a Business Projects Manager and then as HR Manager.

Catherine Knight

  • Employer Services Manager.
  • Managing the Employer Services team and overseeing employer activities and events.
Catherine joined Bath Careers Service in April 2017, having worked for 8 years in Further Education (FE) colleges; most recently as Marketing Manager at City of Bristol College. She has a degree in Public Relations and English Language and, after graduation, worked for a PR agency in Bristol. Catherine then returned to university to study a postgraduate qualification in Careers Advice and Guidance.

Victoria Houston

Victoria joined the Careers Service in November 2007 having previously worked for the Students' Union Catering for four years. Her higher education, training and previous jobs are mostly catering-focused. She now manages the three careers fairs with Catherine Knight.

Emma Phillips

Emma joined the University of Bath in March 2005. After working in the Accommodation Service Centre, she moved to the Careers Service in April 2007 as the Employer Services Assistant, and supports the work of the Employer Services Team.

Anna Baildon

Anna joined the department in 1999, after gaining BA (Hons) in English and an MSc (Econ) in Information and Library Studies, and working in academic and public libraries. She worked initially at Bath as Information Assistant then Information Officer, and moved to her current role in 2005. She manages our front-of-house information and enquiries service, our online and print publications, and our specialist information system. She is a member of AGCAS.

Emma O'Shea

Emma joined the Careers Service in July 2013 as a part-time Information Officer. Emma has a BA (Hons) in History and was a Postgraduate Administrator in the Department of Education for 6 years before moving over to the Careers Service.

Rebecca Wray

Rebecca joined the Careers Service in June 2017. She studied Psychology at Oxford Brookes University and has previously worked in a variety of roles in academic libraries around Oxford. She is currently studying via distance-learning for an MA in Information and Library Studies from Aberystwyth University.

Kate joined the Careers Service in April 2011. She studied computer animation at the University of Portsmouth before moving to Bath in 2006 to study visual arts. Kate has over ten years experience working in customer service related positions. Her role at the Careers Service is to support the Information Team.
