Whilst the main reason you have come to university is obviously to gain a degree, to really make the most of university life, you should take advantage of some of the other opportunities open to you. Participation in extra-curricular activities enhances your social life, your skills and looks good on your CV!

The Students' Union hosts a vast range of clubs and societies for you to join. The University is renowned for its excellent sporting facilities whilst the Arts Centre provides creative outlets for budding musicians, actors and artists. You can also express yourself and gain media experience through becoming involved in student media (Newspaper, Radio, Television). Budding photographers can upload their masterpieces to the web services in pictures gallery, depicting views of the university which can be used in events and promotions. Be it fundraising in wacky costumes, or mentoring younger students, volunteering is a great way to give something back and make new friends. Considering running your own business one day? Get involved in entrepreneurship.

Many of these activities can also contribute towards the prestigious Bath Award which recognises and accredits the skills and achievements of students engaged in extra-curricular activities. The Student Accommodation Services can provide help and advice for students living on or off campus whilst further help for on campus students can be sought from resident tutors. Information can also be found on the various catering facilities run centrally or by the Students' Union. To earn a little extra cash, visit joblink to find current work opportunities and advice on job hunting.
