Student Funding Advice |

BankingHolding an account with a bank branch on or near a university campus means that transactions and negotiations can be made very much easier by dealing direct with a specifically trained Student Business Officer. Try to avoid all credit cards and store cards as they incur high interest charges on balances which students usually find difficult to clear. The University of Bath has two banks on Campus: Barclays - Open Monday to Friday, 10am - 3pm Santander - Open Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm Most High Street Banks offer preferential terms to UK Undergraduate students and it is worth opening a Student Account to take advantage of the interest-free overdraft facility. International and EU Students are not usually able to open a bank account
before arrival in the UK and the accounts available are normally without
borrowing facilities. You will need to provide your chosen bank with
several documents which include: your passport, a letter from the University
confirming your place on a course, a letter confirming your address
in the UK and proof of your address in your home country (please note
that P.O. Box numbers will not be accepted). EU and Overseas Students
should contact the banks direct for details of services offered to
non UK students. Comparison of Bank Packages
