This course will provide you with the language and skills for the IELTS test.
Classes are taught by staff with several years' IELTS teaching and examining experience.
English Language Skills
International students should assess their English language skills before they come to university.
You can improve your English language skills by attending a pre-sessional course with the English Language Centre.
They also hold in-sessional courses during each semester.
Pre-sessional English
Our academic English courses are accredited by the British Association of Lecturers in English for Academic Purposes (BALEAP).
The courses are for students who have a place here (or at another university), or those who are considering studying at a higher level in the UK.
The courses provide you with the English and study skills that you need to complete your academic studies successfully.
In-sessional English
The English Language Centre offers a range of free In-sessional English units during term time to support undergraduates and postgraduates in their studies and to improve their English.
Most classes take place on Wednesday afternoons but other times are available, generally early evenings.
