Living in a new culture (LINC) international orientation

The International Student Advice Team run the LINC (living in a new culture) programme to help you settle into life in the UK.

We organise a number of events for you to gain important information and meet each other – primarily other international students and students from your country. This programme of activity is free.

LINC event timetable

When you arrive we encourage you to come to the International Student Meeting Point on campus in the 4West Student Services Centre.

Our friendly international student helpers will be available to answer any questions you might have.

A full programme of events will be published here in September. Events will include:

  • Student meeting point
  • International student welcome evening
  • International student enrolment
  • Information sessions with tour of buildings and facilities
  • Global languages cafe - undergraduates
  • Global languages cafe - postgraduates
  • Briefing sessions with tour of buildings and facilities
  • LINC Mentor Programme Welcome event
  • Tea and talk
  • International undergraduate, exchange and visiting students welcome reception
  • Postgraduate networking events
  • Police registration
  • Visit to Lacock Town and Abbey, and Castle Coombe

Police Registration

Police registration is for all students who have a requirement to register with police stamped in their passport.

You will need:

  • your passport
  • £34 cash
  • ID card (if you have one)
  • 2 passport sized photos

The police are aware that many of you will have been here for more than 7 days.
