What made you choose Bath?

I didn’t make the choice by myself. My home institution office has made the choice for me. To participate at the exchange program, you have to do a motivation letter and you have to pass an interview. During my interview, I had specified that I wanted to go to a country where the first language was English and that was located in Europe.

They gave me another perspective of the business world and I am really impressed by how much I have learned in a short time.

What’s the best thing about studying at Bath?

First, Bath is in England. For me, living in England is like a dream come true. I just love the language. Second, the people I have met really make my experience unforgettable. The teachers are really good and I just don’t have the words to express how it has been the greatest five months of my life. I just have enjoyed everything. Every single memory makes me smile.

What have you enjoyed most about living in Bath?

Bath is a small city with a lot of students. Therefore, there is always something to do. It’s a cute little place. People are nice and you can find almost everything you want. Bristol is not too far and there is good public transport.

What are your plans for the future?

I want to work in an accounting firm. Bath helped me to improve my English. My English is not yet perfect but it’s much better than before.  I have learnt a lot in my classes with Robert Branston and Niall Piercy. I have a lot of respect for these two teachers. They gave me another perspective of the business world and I am really impressed by how much I have learned in a short time.

What was the greatest challenge you encountered upon coming to Bath?

I guess the language was my greatest challenge. I’m a native French speaker and my English was not good. It was hard to communicate and I was really aware of my difficulties with the language. At first, it was hard to follow advanced classes and I was a bit scared of giving my opinion. However, within 3 weeks I improved a lot and it was much easier. I have made friends and they were really helpful.

Would you recommend the University?

Definitely!!! I can’t see myself going back to my home institution next semester. I feel so depressed by the idea of not coming back to Bath next year. How can I live without the Bath Library, Bath Sporting Centre, Plug Bar, Bath SU?
