Foundation programmes

Surat Tanda Tamat Belajar Sekolah Menengah Umum Tingkat Atas (STTB SMA)

Students graduating from Senior Secondary Level (Sekolah Menengah Umum- SMU) with the qualification of Surat Tanda Tamat Belajar Sekolah Menengah Umum Tingkat Atas (STTB SMA) will need to undertake a foundation programme or some other form of bridging study to be eligible for admission to an undergraduate degree programme.

We offer the one year International Foundation Year, which is ideal preparation for entering our undergraduate programmes.

Undergraduate programmes

A Levels; International Baccalaureate (IB)

We welcome applications from students taking A Level examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for direct entry into our undergraduate programmes.

Details of entry requirements can be found in our undergraduate prospectus.

Postgraduate taught degrees

Bachelors degree

Holders of a Sarjana degree are welcome to apply for one of our masters degree programmes. A full certified transcript must accompany your application.

Details of the entry requirements for each of our postgraduate taught degrees are provided in our postgraduate prospectus. Please read them carefully, as there can sometimes be additional requirements, such as the need for working experience or a very specific academic background.

Postgraduate Research Degrees

Masters level qualification from a prestigious university

We generally require a masters level qualification (Sajaran 2/Magister) from a prestigious university for PhD entry. We expect evidence of some research experience (for example through a masters degree project).

Before applying to us, it is worth identifying a potential supervisor in the department to ensure that we have the expertise and resource you need. Certified transcripts of all previous degree-level studies must accompany your application.

English language requirements

To study on the International Foundation Year you will need a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.

The minimum English Language requirement for our undergraduate courses is IELTs 6.0 - 7.0 or an equivalent qualification.

All postgraduate taught applicants must meet our postgraduate English Language requirements (IELTS 6.5-7.0).

You can do this by taking IELTS or TOEFL exams or by attending a pre-sessional programme in our English Language Centre.

A number of external funding bodies exist to support Masters level study in the UK and any applicant seeking support is also strongly advised to explore potential sources of financial aid available in their own country. In many cases the British Council will have a number of awards on offer through the Chevening scheme and further details may be obtained from the British Council in Indonesia. Alternatively, there are international agencies, government departments, charitable organisations and private companies that may be able to provide financial aid for certain programmes of study and all are worth exploring.
