We welcome applications from students taking A Level examinations and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for direct entry into our undergraduate programmes.

Holders of Diplomas in Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic are also suitable for Advanced Entry, usually to the 2nd Year of an undergraduate programme in Engineering.

Generally, you will need to get a 'B' grade average (GPA of 3.2) or above overall to qualify for second year entry.

Detailed entry requirements can be found in the undergraduate prospectus.

Postgraduate Taught Degrees

Bachelors degree

Holders of a bachelors degree will be considered for entry to a masters degree. We normally look for the equivalent of a first or second class degree.

If you have studied recently for your undergraduate degree in a university where the medium of instruction is English, you will not normally be required to meet additional conditions for English Language, such as an IELTS test.

Details of the entry requirements for each of our postgraduate taught degrees are provided in the postgraduate prospectus.

Postgraduate Research Degrees

Masters level qualification from a prestigious university

In many cases, we require a masters level qualification from a prestigious university for PhD entry. We expect evidence of some research experience (for example through a masters degree project).

Before applying to us, it is worth identifying a potential supervisor in the department to ensure that we have the expertise and resource you need.

English language requirements

To study on the International Foundation Year you will need a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.

The minimum English Language requirement for our undergraduate courses is IELTs 6.0 - 7.0 or an equivalent qualification.

All postgraduate taught applicants must meet our English requirements (IELTS 6.5-7.0) You can do this by taking IELTS or TOEFL exams or by attending a pre-sessional programme in our English Language Centre.

If you have studied recently for your undergraduate degree in a university where the medium of instruction is English, you will not normally be required to meet additional conditions for English Language, such as an IELTS test.
