We have a growing number of students from Turkey studying on both our undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Our courses are academically strong and have a focus on developing skills for the real world. Bath is a city of outstanding beauty, one of only three in the world to be on UNESCO's World Heritage list. Studying here offers you access to first class sporting facilities and a creative arts institute based on a modern, safe campus.

Our International Office provides support before you arrive and throughout your studies.
We visit Turkey twice a year, in the Autumn and Spring, to meet with prospective students, parents, school counsellors and university staff to advise on the opportunities Bath has to offer.
We have appointed two professional educational consultants in Turkey:
Their experienced advisors can provide you with advice and counselling and help you select the most appropriate programme of study and guide you through the application process.

These requirements will vary from subject to subject. You also need to look at course entry requirements in our undergraduate and postgraduate prospectuses.
Devlet Lise Diplomasi or Lise Bitirme Diplomasi |
Students taking the Devlet Lise Diplomasi (State High School Diploma) or Lise Bitirme Diplomasi (Private High School Finishing Diploma) are not normally eligible for direct entry onto our undergraduate programmes. You will normally be required to complete either an appropriate foundation year or the first year of a Turkish University degree at an approved institution to enter to Bath’s undergraduate programmes. We offer the one year International Foundation Year, which is ideal preparation for entering our undergraduate programmes. |
A Levels and the International Baccalaureate (IB) |
We welcome applications from students taking A Level examinations, European Baccalaureate and the International Baccalaureate (IB) for direct entry into our undergraduate courses. Students with exceptionally high grades in the Devlet Lise Diplomasi or Lise Bitirme Diplomasi may be considered for direct entry onto certain undergraduate degree programmes, depending on the school attended and academic record. Details of entry requirements can be found in our undergraduate prospectus. |
Undergraduate (bachelor) degree |
Holders of a bachelors degree from a prestigious university will be considered for entry to one of our masters degree programmes. If you have a Lisans Diplomasi from a recognised university in Turkey, you are eligible to apply for a masters degree. A minimum GPA of 3 is normally expected. Entry requirements do vary from course to course, please check the postgraduate prospectus. |
Masters level qualification from a prestigious university |
A masters level qualification from a prestigious university will in many cases be required for PhD entry. Evidence of some research experience (for example through a masters degree project) is expected. |
To study on the International Foundation Year you will need a minimum IELTS score of 5.5.
The minimum English Language requirement for our undergraduate courses is IELTs 6.0 - 7.0 or an equivalent qualification.
All postgraduate taught applicants must meet our English requirements (IELTS 6.5-7.0) You can do this by taking IELTS or TOEFL exams or by attending a pre-sessional programme in our English Language Centre.
Prospective international students are eligible for a number of scholarships. Most of these are for postgraduate taught students. Departments may also offer specific scholarships for their students. Find out more about Scholarships and Bursaries.
These are some of the scholarship and funding options available to students from your country:
We have 75 scholarships available worth £3,000 each, for international students who are planning to take a postgradaute taught degree at Bath.
You must have already accepted an offer to study on one of our Masters programmes to be eligible to apply. The award is offered as a discount in tuition fees and is valid for one year only.

A number of external funding bodies exist to support masters level study in the UK. Any applicant seeking support is strongly advised to explore potential sources of financial aid available in their own country.
There are international agencies, government departments, charitable organisations and private companies that may be able to provide financial aid for certain programmes of study, and are all worth exploring.
You can also approach the British Council in your country to find out if they have any funding available.
For MPhil/PhD students we provide both full and partial research degree scholarships and these are awarded on a competitive basis. Some are designated for certain research topics and others are offered on a university-wide basis. You may indicate that you wish to be considered for a scholarship on the research degree programme application form.
