Welcome to SAS (Statistics Advisory Service)
Welcome to the statistics advisory service at MASH.
We are here to help with any statistical problems that you might have with any project work; from experimental design, to guidance on the correct statistical test and interpretation of results. We can also give help with statistical packages.
This service is available to all members of the university and for any type of project. Please note: this service is concerned with guiding and supporting learning and will not explicitly carry out statistical testing of data which forms part of any university assessments. If there are any units where there is a set examination then you should attend the usual MASH drop-in sessions.
The service operates an online booking system; at the time of booking, you will be asked to give a brief summary of your study and the type of help you are seeking. Please give any information that you think will be helpful in allowing our staff to prepare effectively for their session with you. The service is confidential; your details are kept for our records and monitoring purposes of the service.
When attending your session, please make sure that you bring all relevant materials (lecture notes, project specification, data stick, textbooks etc.) with you so that effective progress can be made during the session. You will be able to access your BUCS computer account during the session if necessary.

- Appointments are only 25 minutes in length
- The more information you give the more you will get out of the time
Do not book more than one session at a time. We reserve the right to cancel multiple bookings. Further bookings may be appropriate at later stages in your project but should be booked at that time.
To cancel a booking refer to the instructions in the booking confirmation e-mail you received.
