Taught programmes
Our programmes offer a great range of options to suit you. You can study:
- Taught masters degree programmes (MA, MSc, MBA, MRes)
- Postgraduate diplomas (PgDip)
- Postgraduate certificates (PgCert)
- PGCE (which can be Masters level or may be a Professional Graduate Certificate)
Masters degree programmes
Taught masters programmes are usually 12 months full-time and involve a demanding 9 month period of classroom/laboratory work with independent study. It also requires working towards a dissertation during the final 3 months. Some programmes offer a variation, for example:
- MSc in Advanced Management Practice - 12 months with a 20-22 week professional work placement,
- MA in Contemporary European Studies - 24 months with study at one or two partner sites as well as in Bath.
Postgraduate diplomas and certificates
Postgraduate diplomas and certificates are available for professional development or personal interest. They can help you understand more about research methods and what is going on at the cutting edge of your field, without needing to do substantial research and the dissertation that a taught degree programme requires.
Whatever you decide to study, you will find that masters programmes are intense and demanding from the beginning. For this reason, we are looking for people with intellectual excitement and commitment to meet high entry requirements.
Non-native English speakers should bear in mind that English Language must be of a high standard since there will not be time for much language support once on a programme of study.
