Overview

The MSc in Management is designed to enable non-management graduates to get ahead quickly in a wide range of management roles. This taught one-year programme offers students the opportunity to specialise in finance, marketing, human resource management or operations management, or follow a general management studies route.

Since its inception in 1996, the MSc in Management has acquired an international reputation as a prestigious master’s degree attracting top-class students from the world’s leading universities. It is ranked 6th in the UK in the Financial Times' ranking of the best European Masters in Management programmes (2011). 

The MSc in Management is an intensive, demanding postgraduate degree and, as such, requires a high degree of commitment and motivation.

The School of Management is pleased to offer ten scholarships worth £2,000. These are open to all Home/EU students.

Country-specific scholarships

The School of Management is pleased to offer scholarships for students from these specific regions:

Afghanistan: One full scholarship worth £25,000
India: Five scholarships worth £2,000 each
Mexico: Two scholarships worth £2,500 each
Colombia: Two scholarships worth £2,500 each
CIS States (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan): Two scholarships worth £2,500 each

Entry requirements

A good undergraduate degree (2:1 or above or its international equivalent) in any discipline except business. The minimum non-graduate qualifications acceptable for admission to the University of Bath are:

  1. A relevant postgraduate diploma (passed at the appropriate level); or
  2. A relevant professional qualification together with papers passed at an appropriate standard if required by the appropriate Head of Group; or
  3. Extended and responsible experience in a relevant field of industry, teaching or a government establishment with authorship of papers of an acceptable academic standard.

Please note a £50 application fee is required for this programme and this should be submitted with your application.

English Language

Candidates whose first language is not English will normally require an IELTS score of 7.0 with no less than 6.5 in each of the four components or an internet-based TOEFL score of 100 with no less than 24 in any one band.

One academic reference is required. If you graduated a long time ago and think you will have difficulties providing a reference, please contact the department.

We are a leading international centre for management research. This is reflected in our rating in the RAE 2008 which places us 5th in the UK, equal to Oxford and LSE. We have been consistently ranked in the top ten in Europe for research in the Financial Times MBA rankings.
