Researching the information you need is a key study skill. The Library can provide you with the information skills you need. They offer a range of training courses and tutorials.

We have an Ethics Committee. Each department has a Research Ethics Committee which considers the ethical implications of research proposals. There is also a PGSkills course on ethical research practice.
Maths and statistics help
If you need extra help with statistics or maths, the MASH maths resource centre can help you by providing one-to-one support.
Improve your writing and communicate with greater clarity, precision and force with our writing coaches from the Royal Literary Fund Fellowship. You can get one-to-one sessions with our writing coaches or join a workshop on specific writing issues.
Postgraduates at Bath are entitled to free foreign language lessons at the Foreign Language Centre, which offers a wide range of languages at different levels.
Our English Language Centre is also there to help you to develop your English language skills both verbally and in writing.

Advice and Representation Centre
The Advice and Representation Centre within the Students' Union has some useful guides, including presentation advice.
Student academic representatives are elected by students on each programme to represent their views, providing a two-way channel of communication between staff and students about all aspects of our programmes of study and the student experience. Postgraduates are also represented by the Postgraduate Association.
The Research Students Committee represents postgraduate researchers, monitors the training and progress of postgraduates, and sets standards for postgraduate research.
The Research Postgraduate Ombudsman deals confidentially with problems around postgraduate supervision.
