Self-guided campus tour

  1. Your tour starts at the main University bus stop.
  2. Walk up the steps to the central Parade (signposted from the bus stop).
  3. You will pass 6 East (Architecture and Civil Engineering) and 4 East (Engineering) on your left.
  4. On your right you will see our Student Centre building, home to the Students' Union including The Plug bar, The Tub night club and the BUSU offices.
  5. Walk along the Parade to the library.
  6. Cross the Parade and go do the steps opposite the Library to see the lake - this is a great spot to relax and eat your lunch if the weather is good! You can also access Level 1 cafe from here.
  7. Go back up the steps and turn left, walk past Level 1 cafe and the Parade Bar. Continuing down the Parade you will come to 4 West, which houses our student services centre where you can obtain advice on finances, disability issues and International student advice.
  8. Next door is the 4 West Cafe
  9. At the far end of the Parade you will find the Fresh shop. Go past the Fresh shop and through the door by the post box, turn right at Barclays and exit by the door on the left facing the Post Office. Turn right towards the accommodation.
  10. Follow the covered walkway passing 3 West North on the right, which houses an exhibition space for the Institute of Contemporary Interdisciplinary Arts (ICIA).
  11. As you reach the road at the end of the path, you will see slightly to the left in front of you is the West Accommodation Centre and Westwood accommodation block.
  12. Continue right along the service road,
  13. Look out for the Estates Office on your right around five minutes down the road.
  14. You should then come to the Eastwood accommodation block on your left.
  15. Continue along the road which bends around to the right. Woodland Court is on your left.
  16. Continue alongside Solsbury Court. Opposite the accommodation blocks, on your right you’ll see what looks like a small wooden house. This is Balehaus@Bath, part of a major research project into how renewable materials can be used for homes of the future.
  17. Walking ahead you will pass your starting point, the main bus stop, on your right.
  18. Ahead is our Sports Training Village as marked on the map and to the left is East Car Park and the East Building.
  19. The tour finishes here, but you might want to grab a well earned coffee in the Sports Café in the Sports Training Village.
