How to apply

  1. Step 1

    Register your details for online access

    • Log in using your BUCS (Bath University Computing Services) username and password.
    • You will also need to supply another contact email address, make sure this will be active in August/September.
    • Forgotten your password? Complete this form. Where it asks for your department, type 'Not Applicable'.
    • You will receive email confirmation within 1 hour, to proceed to the application stage.
  2. Step 2

    Apply

    Log in using your BUCS username and password.

    • Select 'Applications' from the left hand navigation menu
    • ‘Create New Application'.

    Follow the application by completing:

    • Student Type
    • Location/Complex preferences
    • Room Type preference
    • Kitchen Group preference
    • Additional notes - please add any additional requirements if relevant, otherwise leave blank

    Your preferred accommodation may have been removed due to high demand. If this is the case you will need to select an alternative option.

  3. Step 3

    Submit your application

    • Read the Terms & Conditions and select 'Yes' to submit. (If you select 'No' your application will be saved but NOT submitted)
    • Save, submit and log out. You must log out to let another applicant log in.

    An email will be sent confirming your application has been received. This is NOT an offer of accommodation only confirmation that your application has been successfully received.

Checking your application status

  • You can log in to the Online Student Accommodation Portal at any time to check the status of your application.
  • You can also update your contact email address if required, bearing in mind that most email correspondence will take place in August/September.
  • Details of your submitted application cannot be amended. If you choose to delete your application, these details will be lost and you will need to submit a new application.
  • By submitting a new application at a later date you may find the number of accommodation options have been reduced, as complexes and room types will be removed from the application options as demand is exceeded.

Applications are processed in order of the date and time they are submitted. If an application is deleted and a new application submitted, the new submitted date and time will replace that of the previous application.
