2013/14 funding timeline

Date Activity
January 2013 onwards
  • UK students can start applying for student loans. Apply early. 
  • You don't have to have a confirmed place with us to apply for student loans.
  • To be considered for our income related funding schemes (fee waivers, bursaries and scholarships) ask the Student Loan Company (SLC) for an assessment based on your, your parents/partners household residual income (HRI).
April
  • Once you have an offer from us we'll email you general information about our funding schemes.
  • If you're an EU student you can start applying for your tuition fee loan from the UK Government. To be considered for our income-related fee waiver scheme ask the SLC for an assessment based on your, parents/partners household residual income.
April onwards
  • You should receive your student loans entitlement letter, about six weeks after your initial application to the SLC.
Mid-June onwards
  • Once you have made us your firm (or insurance) choice we'll send you an email asking you to complete further information in the Bath Application Tracker. This will help us determine your eligibility for our funding packages and is where you submit your supporting statement for income related scholarships.
June and July
  • Make sure you've looked at the Guidelines and Terms and Conditions for our funding packages so you know what is available and who is eligible. 
  • Make sure you've answered our funding related questions in the Bath Application Tracker and have submitted an application statement for donor-funded support if you think your HRI is £42,611 or below (if you're not sure you can complete the statement anyway).
  • Access to HE Diploma, BTEC, IB and other international qualification results are published.
August
  • Thursday 15 August is A Level results day!
  • If we confirm your place the SLC will send us your HRI assessment (if available)
  • Friday 30 is the deadline to be considered for the National Scholarship Programme. To be eligible for one of these awards, you must have completed our funding questions section in Bath Application Tracker and submitted by this date, and we must have received your income assessment from SLC. If your assessment comes in later we may still be able to consider you for a fee waiver or bursary.
September onwards
  • Eligibility assessments start for University of Bath funding packages based on your HRI and the relevant selection criteria.
  • We start sending out confirmation emails if you have been awarded a fee waiver, bursary or scholarship.
  • Registration online starts. You will be able to provide bank details for your confirmed bursary/donor funded scholarship awards via your student SAMIS account (follow the claim bursary/scholarship link).
September/October
  • Emails confirming any support you have been awarded by the University continue to be sent out. 
  • Wednesday 30 October is the deadline to be considered for the income related scholarships. To be eligible for one of these awards, you must have completed our funding questions and provided a supporting statement in Bath Application Tracker and submitted by this date, and we must have received your income assessment from SLC.
  • 31 October is the deadline for receipt of HRI assessments for your first bursary instalment payment in December.
November
  • Emails confirming any support you have been awarded by the University continue to be sent out.
December
  • Emails confirming any support you have been awarded by the University continue to be sent out.
  • First instalment of your bursary or income related scholarship award is made.
January 2014
  • 24 January is the deadline for receipt of HRI assessments and supporting information for fee waiver and bursary awards. 
February
  • Second instalment of your bursary or donor-funded scholarship award.
May
  • Third instalment of your bursary or donor-funded scholarship award.
