Finding part-time work
For many students finding part-time work is not only a good way to help fund their studies, but a great way to gain some work experience or meet new people.
It is important to find work that still allows you time for your studies. There are lots of resources available to help you find a job:
- Search JobLink. Each advert contains details of how to apply.
- Go to your local Job Centre. Alternatively, search for a job via their website. You can search your own postcode for jobs that are near you.
- Get the Bath Chronicle on a Thursday as this has a range of jobs in and around Bath. You can also search their website for the latest jobs.
- Sign up with some local recruitment agencies. Find a recruitment consultancy on the jobseekers' website. Alternatively look in the Yellow Pages.
- Visit your local high street or shopping centre, many jobs are advertised by a poster or card in the window. Drop a copy of your CV into all the shops you would like to work in, even if they are not advertising vacancies in the window.
- Pick up any free local newspapers/magazines that might have vacancy adverts in them. Also check for job adverts in local papers which are delivered to your house. Check notice boards in newsagents' windows.
