Getting Here
During the Open Day, campus and routes into the city become very congested with traffic. We recommend you travel by public transport where possible, or be prepared to delay your departure from campus.
Public transport
Trains
Our nearest train station is Bath Spa. Frequent services run from London, a journey of approximately 90 minutes. Bristol, with connections to the Midlands, the North and the South West is about a 15 minute train journey away.
On open days there will be student ambassadors posted at the station to direct you to buses and taxis.
First Great Western are offering a discount of 10% to visitors travelling to our open days on First Great Western train services. The discount is only valid when purchased online via this webpage.
For other rail services visit National Rail Enquiries for timetables, fares and cheap advance tickets.
Buses

Buses depart from Dorchester Street, in front of the railway station. The bus stop is situated directly opposite the bus station, which is to the left as you exit the railway station. Journey time to the University by bus is approximately 20 minutes, dependent upon traffic.
Orange 'Bendy Buses'
Buses 18 branded "the bright orange bus" and operated by First Somerset & Avon run at regular intervals during the day. Service 8 runs mornings and evenings only during term time.
Wessex Connect
U18 UniConnect bus service runs every 10 minutes between the city centre and the University during the week. A less frequent service operates at weekends. Service U10 runs during term time avoiding the city centre.
By Car
During open days many of the access roads to the University become very congested. Please allow plenty of time to cross the city. Road works in and around the city can compound traffic holdups so please check travel news broadcasts.
The main A46 road from the M4 into Bath can become heavily congested so you may find that exiting at junction 17 from the east or travelling into Bath along the A4 from the west leads to fewer delays.

Parking on Campus
There is free car parking on campus for University Open Days.
Coaches
Please note there is no provision for coach parking on campus. Coaches should drop visitors at our designated coach drop-off and then depart. Visitors should arrange a pick-up from the same place at a set time.
Coach parking is available at the Riverside Coach Park. Please do not park coaches on local streets. If you are intending to bring visitors by coach, please contact us giving numbers, size of coaches, time of arrival and contact details so that we are aware of how many to expect.
Visitors with Disabilities
If you have a disability, please contact us so we can make arrangements for your visit. You can call us on 01225 384144 or email us at opendays@bath.ac.uk
There are accessible parking spaces reserved in each of the University car parks. The University car parks operate usual parking restrictions so you will be required to display a permit. For details of accessible parking spaces, please see the campus map.
Staying the Night
We strongly recommend staying overnight if you have the time and budget to do so. This will give you a chance to experience what the city of Bath has to offer and will help you make the most of your visit.
