Admissions process
Admissions statement
Once you have sent your application to UCAS, your form will be considered by the Computer Science admissions team. Each application is given individual consideration, paying particular attention to the subjects studied, the reference and the personal statement. Factors such as academic achievement, and potential, your skills and aptitudes and your motivation and commitment will all be considered.
Applications received before the UCAS deadline of 15 January 2013 will be given equal consideration. Applications received after this date may be considered if there are still places available; however, as the number of applications per place can be very high, we strongly advise you to apply as early as possible.
The majority of applicants will be invited to an interview, following this a decision will be made on whether to make you an offer as soon as possible, you will be notified of this decision through UCAS.
Deferred entry
Gap years are viewed positively by the Department and we are happy to consider applicants who wish to defer their entry.

Open Days
Our Department Open Days are run for our UCAS applicants only. They focus on what you can expect from our Department's degree schemes, from our fully-supported placement programme and from your life here as a student. You will find further information on the Computer Science web pages.

Interviews
If your application looks promising we will invite you to a Department Open Day, which will include a one-to-one interview. This is an important part of our selection process and can affect the offer we make you. To make sure we have the full picture, we normally only make you an offer after you have been interviewed. (Applicants based outside the UK or who have other good reasons for not being able to travel here are exempt from this requirement). You will be notified of our decision as soon as possible after the interview.
